just interested
I have got a friend just moving into a 6 bed house 1 acre top end area in the south east of England paying between 730 - 770 k for it
The house is in not fantastic condition but the wife wants it cleaned for her and family.
She is not expecting buckingham palace but to a sensible standard
Please exclude carpets, just walls, 4 bathrooms, hard floors downstairs and kitchen (in and out of cupboards)
I know exactly how much the lady has been told by the estate agents recommended cleaning company(from about 2 weeks ago ) who has called today Monday with client moving in Tuesday same week that it is a sizeable house and he has doubled the cleaners from 3 to 6 for a couple of hours !!!!
Please advise what you would estimate for this service
I am in the c/c and f/f industry so I am not at all interested in this type of work but just the estimated price (please no oh this and that just an estimated price )
Answers in 3 days time
cheers

I would charge the same as the estate agents cleaning company.
If you can afford that type of house you should not expect your friends to work on the cheap..

Hi
Just had a thought why doesn’t some one think this up a new TV program replacing how clean is your home to how clean were the previous tenants.

well my friend had 6 cleaners in for four hours, just doing the basics and kitchen in/out . the cleaning firm charged him 175-00 , this equates to £43=75 per hour or £7=29 per cleaner per hour .
Now is my brain saying what a lot of hard work / organising this is or is this what the general cleaning industry rates are still getting .
my original question was how much for this service
and the reason i said answers in 3 days was because the family were moving in and the cleaning firm were trying to push the price up so I did not know the final outcome until today. thanks

hi there,
i think your brain is right to question.
6 guys for four hours, the question that springs to mind is how much are the cleaning ops being paid.
lets say £5 an hour, therefore gross profit £54.00 before materials, and as you say the organising costs, fuel etc.
i personally wouldnt even look at it. just not profitable enough.

I dont know about the rest of you on here but 175 for six cleaners for 4 hours thats just to cheap, its the same old story you get what you pay for.
500 sounds nearer the mark and for that you would get a quality service.

sfp- where are you??
i agree with your thoughts aswell
we have quoted for a big builders clean next week, 10 guys two days, and scaffold towers.
and the client has had a heart attack. well we wont reduce our price, but i bet someone will do it for their budget value.
