2-4-6-8 what do they appriecite
« on: September 28, 2007, 01:18:55 pm »
what is the best system of running your round i currently do monthly, i average getting round in 4 and a half weeks.

a bit shy about going out in the rain.

I have started offering 8 weeks to newer customers; but only if they wince at the price!

Am i mugging myself.

I am wfp and have been so for a year and alot of people are now saying the windows are staying cleaner for longer and i don't know how to answer this i'm a good w/c but not a good sales person, don't want to back myself into a corner abit like rain situation i don't like rejection!

was thinking as i grow my business more wether to clean every 6 weeks.

should i ask my customers haven't enough work at present to do 6 weeks.

whats best?

I now an encouraging my customers to go every other month for the following reasons

1. I can get a larger customer base
2. I can charge more - it doesnt sound as bad if its every other
3. I can get more large jobs because i have free'd up lots of time

I think you have a good point Luke.
I started with every 4 weeks but as my business has grown, bad weather, time off and the latest set back an mot fail on my van, I've crept further and further behind on my regular round. I'd prefer every 6 weeks but with my recent set back every other month would be more realistic, customers dont seem to mind, and  wfp does leave windows cleaner longer (unfortunately). And as you say it does leave room for more customers, larger less frequent jobs and "one off's".

With 1 exception all my customers are now bi-monthly....in fact with the poxy July weather we had I'm so behind that it's gonna be 3 months for some of 'em.

Thing is nobody has complained...they don't seem to care.

all good idears , here,s another ... i,ve always told my customers that i,ll never be round in under 4 weeks , but depending on weather, bank holidays, my golf days ..... i could be late .... unless they say they only want you every 2 months, thats always worked for me  :)

I am wfp

I'm Wfp too & i always work in the rain, my customers are fine with it now & dont batt an eyelid. They know if there is a problem if they phone me i will come back & sort it, not 1 call in 2 years so far.

Answer to this one is. " Great this system isn't it, your windows are always clean. You can always drop me for another wc hoping he turns up soon because they are dirty." Always shuts them up.

No prob Steve. It works in the rain & if your confident your custy will be.

Get yourself some light weight water proofs, sepaerate jacket & leggings, that way your
always dry.  ;D

Tucker van mount. I've a Transporter lwb with a 650ltr tank.

I switched coming up 2 years ago, i work in all weathers & my custys are fine now. It took 6 -9 months to educate them but start the way you mean to continue.

I know i paid over the top & have made alot of changes to my system but the cost is nothing compared to what it earns me. My work at the moment is 4 weeks only & have been on time to the day since i switched.

What poles do you use & do you use microbore?

got a preditor pole ... 20 foot , telescopic , i think ..... does all my domestic houses , and a longer one , just about reaches 4th floor ..... my mate built me a troly system that holds 25 litres , which i use most of the time ... aint got micro bore yet , out of my van , cos i seem to be getting on ok with normal hose , don,t use it that much , most of my work is domestic ........ i,ve had 3 complaints about my change over  , but after the 2nd clean they were more than happy .......... happy days ...... steve

Microbore is a must, so easy to work with & don't ask me why
but it saves so much water.

I would say 90% of my custys love it now, always getting told
its great how clean the windows stay.

As i've said, i coming up to 2 years & i really enjoy my work now.
I never bunk a day off now, infact the opposit, if i want a day off
i get my finger out & finnish early on Thursday & Friday is free.

This time next year you will be floating. Every Monday morning i'm
sitting in the front room with a coffee by 6.30 raring to go.
