Who is that company doing two for one on poles?
« on: September 24, 2007, 08:42:56 pm »
Need a cheap(ish) 28ft pole for a once a moth job (pays well though) and would like an 18fter as well. 2for1 seems like a good deal but can't remember who was doing it. Anybody?

not being funny but aren't their poles a little expensive. I mean if they are good quality then ok. But I'm sure you would be able to get a 30' universal and and 18' residential pole for the price of their 25' pole?

Don't EVER buy a 30ft universal Colley. I did and regretted it from day 1. They're absolutely fine for 5 minutes or less, but then you're screwed. They might be cheap, but you'll end up gettin rid in no time and spending even more for a better one. If you're going big, don't try scrimping. Just my humble opinion  ;)

To be honest I used to use the old Ionics 50' pole for my ex boss and compared to that my universal is like a kids fishing rod.

It think I've always used heavy poles though. My boss bought his system from ionics. Then bought all his poles from Brodex. They were the green ones and they were not very stiff. I thought the ionics yellow ones were more rigid but heavier.

dave0123 to be honest I don't find it that heavy when you compare it to the weight of the backpack on your back. Now that was heavy when I first put it on. Think I'm getting used to it now though, doesn't seem as heavy.

Really the best way I can describe it is that its not heavy when you first pick it up but gets to your arms, shoulders and back after a while. Plus if your poles not rigid when the top bends it feels really heavy trying to get it back up straight. I have always left the top section of my poles in unless needed and used the second section then third.

Mine is usually about 275-280 in the day but about 250 in the morning? I have found my commercial work have really be glad to see my poles going up but my domestic unless they have windows that I couldn't reach they have been umming and aring at me. As for your filtration stuff I'd go and see Andy's aquatics in New Ferry, the stock or are going to stock RO'S and stuff. What size RO did you get mine is only 100 gpd but to be honest I've found if I fill the IBC at the weekend I only need to run it once in the week from when I go out til when I get home and it does me.

No mate I didn't hand out letters due to the fact that I've always talked about it to my customers since starting work for them but still had a few funny comments. I even had one customer say " Oh no that stupid stick with the water coming out the top."

My 100 gpd takes around 2 days to fill my IBC tank. Wish I knew you were getting one because I got 1 for 40 quid new and the guy had 2 for sale could probably got them for cheaper if I had tried but was happy not to be paying £200 I got quoted from one supplier. All in all wfp has been really handy for me,even for instance me car with roofrack broke down  the other week so I just threw my gear in my other car and went back to work.
