Best 56 ft Carbon fibre pole ?
« on: September 24, 2007, 07:18:08 pm »
I have a Facelift carbon fibre 56 ft pole which in truth has not served too well.  After 1 year the pattern/ribbing on carbon surface has worn away and clamps constantly needing attention/renewal.
I need this height, not less.
Can anyone recommend a LIGHT carbon fibre pole?
Thanks

Why the last 3 posts?
Am I missing something?
A simple question, reasonably described?

its a bit of a "in joke", tony will have us believe "the only" pole to buy is the facelift

If you want to DIY the lightest pole is a Featherlight fishing pole and at approx £370 for a 60fter also the cheapest, Mine is 20 months old but have no idea how long they last. Check the diy link below, reply 3. Forgotten the weight but its about 1.5kg

The thing is Dave that the facelift carbon pole is apparantly indestructable and immune to wear of any kind Tony swears by them and would be gutted to read otherwise.
Having said that I think you are the first person to complain at all about one. :)
Gardinerpolesystems have a new superlight modular pole coming out soon that may well be worth a look. Make sure it's the Superlight 2 as the Superlight 1 is a little fragile.

The Facelift I have used VERY frequently over the last year and as described the ribbed pattern has worn away thereby making it difficult for the clamps to close tightly.

The overall diameter of the Facelift I have found to be very narrow and as such gives me much more control.

The "fishing poles" :-  will they give value for money and last the passage of time if they are used very frequently per day, dismantling and re assembling?

The Unger pole looks good but hw do you cope with adding and removing section as you progress along a buildin?

My 56ft facelift gets battered still works a treat never had any problems with it eveb bought a spare clamp months ago to keep in the van but never had to change them. i use it every single day mostly as a 20-30ft pole and when i do me bigger stuff i just add the section. \Personally not a fan of a fishing pole.
