Then if your water pressure to the pump is ok, then I'm stuffed, its a shame no one else has come back to help us.

Sounds silly this one? but is your fuse ok, don't just assume it is.

I'll have alook on the web later, I'm just about to have my sunday roast. ;)

Burrrrp That was nice ;D
have just been to your pump on ro-mans site.
http://www.ro-man.com/shop/product_info.php/cPath/28/products_id/245?osCsid=415bdde445bc7fbb2027a5ec5a6731eb
and guess what?
The systems comes with a pressure sensing valve* to stop the pump from running dry and shows the operational pressure.
So find that screw and adjust it?

hi russ

you need to wire the flow controller to the pump

and from the flow controller you wire the plug three gage

just follow the instructions and i think you put the one way valve in right , make sure the arrow points towards the inside of the pump ,

it will turn on and off with the tank filling, how ever word warning  you will need to fit a solenoid not aball valve as the waste water flowing out will start up the pump in before the carbon and sediment filters as is is not designed to dry run so hence the solenoid to keep water in the system when full

they are noisy though yet work very well on low presure

Cheers for advice Tony

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t277/russ_clark/ROPUMP3.jpg

is that white thing a solenoid??

If so then have I still got to find this adjuster/screw thingy

I am definately filling the pump in the direction of the arrow on the brass fitment
and water is getting in as it leaks like a sieve on the fittings.
I need to tighten more but they are already very tight and I ptfe taped them.

Good luck Russ, hope you get it going soon, I'm so glad I bought the smaller pump, 10 minutes and it was up and running.

Thanks for keeping me posted.

After a very long drawn out saga
I am happy to announce that yes it is all up and running.
The pump had to be re-wired about twenty different ways before it was right.
Don't get me wrong its a great piece of kit (leaks like a sieve when not pumping)
I am no electrician but you bloody need to know how 3 phase wiring colours converts with normal domestic type.
Still 13 days from ordering its here and working.

Christ it pushes out some water ;D ;D
Just what the doctor ordered.

Big thanks to Simon Sherwwood for loaning me a tank of the pure stuff
Owe you one Simon ;)

Also to Jeff1 for taking a big interest and giving advice.
Jeff1 u r probably still holding the shed roof down ;D ;D

Just need to fix the leaks and catch up on the 4 lost days of work.

Chuffed for you russ, When you get the time Russ, take a couple of piccy's for me, I'll store them on the Academy for anyone else who gets stuck in the future.

A roll of PTFE tape sound just what you need now, well done dude. ;)

P.S. No wind at the moment, so no sleep for me tonight  ;D ;D

Glad to hear it.  You won't regret getting a 4040.  You'll wake up in the morning to both your IBC tanks brimmed.

Simon.
