Does anyine know if there is a height finder/measurer,probably will be something with a lasor beam and digital reader,

use a pen and paper and a tape measure , 

Measure your shadow then measure the buildings shadow, then divide your shadow by the buildings shadow.

So if you are six foot tall and have a 3 foot shadow and the building has a 12 foot shadow, this means the building is 4 times bigger than you.

so multiply your height by 4 to give the building height which is 6 foot times 4 = 24 feet high.

Or it might be easier to get hold of a stopwatch - climb onto the roof, jump off-timing how many seconds before you hit the ground - pick yourself up then time yourself jumping off a 1ft wall - get the calculator out and do the maths.

This method works fine even on cloudy days when there are no shadows to measure !

HaHa! I can just imagine some guy's taking a measurement from the building, then trying to measure their own shadow, Put the tape measure down by their feet and then they begin to walk to the end of their shadow Doh my tape isn't long enough

Google "range finder" and you will find loads, mostly for golf
Just point at the height you want and it will tell you how far ,then point straight at the building and then do the square of the hippopotimus and all that

there are 2 diffrent range finders, one is for inside buildings, usualy your cheap ones, for mesuring
outside buildings, they are more costly, something to do with the weather conditions throw the cheap ones signal of track,
