Do people laugh at this site???
« on: September 21, 2007, 03:58:32 pm »
Whenever I mention this site to non-w/c they laugh. People think its funny to have a forum for w/c's, they ask me what we all talk about like how many windows did you clean today etc.
Thing is, I would never have been able to build my own wfp system without this site, (Matt was a great help with that 1) I probable wouldnt even know the concept of it all.

I tend to not mention this site to much but when you do, do you also get a big smile from your customers?

I think when people who are not W/Cers hear about the site they think we must chat about silly things like .. the weather, or who has the biggest ladders.. in some case's poles :).. And we all know this is true..

But people dont take into account how much help & advice you can get on here.. not to mention keeping your eyes on how the w/c market and how it is  going in other parts of the uk... and the world

I wonder if there is a forum for Fishermen.... i bet they talk about hooks and rods allday :D

I wouldn't dream of telling clients about the forum, I have told a few I educated myself by using the WWW.

Sounds a bit more professional than "I picked up a few tips from a windowcleaner chat forum" :P

Try to explain to them how much help this forem has been to me & others.

Sometimes the mrs says she could understand more if it was a perv site,
in some ways it is, there's Squeaky & Tosh for a start.  ;D

I tell punters about this place. I tell them it's like goin in a cyber pub full of window cleaners(sad i know) but it's kinda true(just no beer in sight) where you chat, ask questions, have a laugh, wind each other up and hell, now and then even learn a thing or two. Now, who's round is it?  ;D

I once mentioned that I was going to a WFP course at the British Window Cleaning Academy and a friend fell about laughing at the idea that there should actually be such a thing or that anyone would need to undergo training to be a window cleaner. ::)

Dino got it right. This site is the equivalent of going down the boozer with a few colleagues after work and swapping stories/bitching about work.

Oh Mods...the word doging doesn't exist unless it's spelt with 2 Gs...in which case it's dogging which means sex in a public place.
