I have started using WFP for just the upstairs windows, due to the fact I keep running out of water, and waste 30-40 mins going home to fill up.What do you do and why?

Up & down for me,
once you have done your first 2 or 3 cleans you should be able to turn your water flow down.

I started with a backpack just to do tops only. After a couple of days i was doing the downstairs as well.
Couldn't see the point of getting WFP gear out, then putting it away to do bottom trad.

250l and  3 x 25l jerry cans...lasts til just after lunchtime

can you not get a bigger tank or another 250l tank.

Started up in a bit of a rush, broke the bank, I bought a caddy so payload wont allow really.Ideally I need a dispatch/expert and put my 650l tank in it.

At least I'm on the ladder

if payload will not cover the weight dont bother m8 what is the payload by the way, and I am guessing you have a flow controller fitted?

Payload is 600kg so 400l tank would be pushing it I think.Yes I have a vari-flow, am just messing with the settings at mo to get it right, which may make a difference, and when I speed up a bit, that may save some water too!!

Do you think wasting 30-40 mins filling up at lunchtime outweighs going trad downstairs and not going home,time wise,bearing in mind I don't break for lunch.

easy way to work that out is to try it m8, for a day at the worst it will take an extra hour, at the end of the day you are starting up you will find what works best from you, when the funds are better I would go for bigger tank.
do you have van mount with RO? if you do could you fill up a bit on bigger houses ?

Payload is 600kg so 400l tank would be pushing it I think

My van has a payload of the same too. am still fitting a 400l tank tho but will not fill it over 300lit. surly after your first few cleans that should be enuf and turning the flow down a little bit .. i think anyway.

Just to make my earlier post clearer-
You would fill your tanks at full mains pressure from custy's tap & pump through DI vessel to pole so there would be very little time waiting to fill tank.

I also have to take into account water costs as house we moved into 18 months ago has a water meter

I did buy the 650 baffled van tank I use in my garage intentionally so when I get a bigger van I can just put it straight in there...and presto...problem solved

[M & C Window Cleaning]

I originally fitted a control valve to my poles and found that I got fed up of using a second hand to reach over and turn the water on and off. It also wasted a lot of water whilst I was reaching over to turn it on and off.
So in response to other posts about using the Numatic George trigger I fitted them to my two poles and they worked real well.
On my first day with them, 125 ltrs lasted from 8.45am to 3.30pm with no break. I was doing upstairs only wfp, 2up & 2down houses back & front for most of the time and was amazed how far the water went. This was critical for me as I too am on a meter and can't afford to waste a drop.
