Mine was written a month ago and I had my first job from it today.  Nowhere near as dramatic as your experience though as mine was a 15 pounder.  Got 40 for the first clean though as they wanted some extras too.

One of the girls in the signwriting place wanted a job done,.. so it more than half paid for itself before it even went back out on the road!!!
I had a little old lady follow me home once, cause she couldn't write the number down quick enough! She lived just around the corner from me, and I got a €140 job out of it!  ;D

Best money I ever spent!

Hi NWH,

It was already on the van when I brought it in July.It was done by a company call A&C Sign Work In Chard,Somersett,
So not too sure on the costs but I've been quoted £30 for 2 large & 1 small,to add my mobile number on my van this week.
