You can rub salt in her wounds and be polite about it at the same time, here is what you do, get a digital camera, with time date stamp on it, Take photo/s of you cleaning the windows at 6.30am,
No way will she be able to argue with it, its a little sarcasim but your only covering your backside and at the same time showing Professionalism .

I do this with all my guttering cleans just as, before and after shots,
but I had a custy a couple of years ago trying to pull a fast one, printed off a before and after photo, went and seen him, and he couldn't argue so paid up. (then I binned him  ;D)

lol thats my point they think you take liberties with them just becase they aint in
i think half the time they are hard up and we get the brunt off it
the worst off them is the ones you dont see comming like you cleaned them that day and they talk away with you when your there then over the phone they turn into a complete nut  ;D ;D

you aint the only one, i had my fill of jumped up little assistants who think they are management.
did a hotel job the other week ins and outs been doing them for 4 years. i went to hand my invoice in  some temporary staff who was in charge for an hour said "i hope they have been done propaly" i looked up expecting a bit of friendly banter and she was dead serious. i just handed the invoice over and walked off. lately the whole job has got me down mainly dealing with these people. the managers are fine but these wanna bees are trying my patience.

There are those who have a very dated and negative opinions about window cleaners but there are window cleaners who reinforce those opinions to the customers....

It is our duty to behave politely and with dignity..if we act stupid, rude and indifferent....why would we expect to be treated any differently?

Some people have very little power or control in their lives, and so in certain situations when they do feel totally safe, they excerise this  by being authuoratitive towards people they feel can't fight back.(us)

I deal lots of top flight people- they just leave me to get on with it, then as you come lower down the spectrum it gets progressively worse.

always look the part.. always be polite... always smile....

i treat it as if i was a shopkeeper...

i value the custom and i would like them to use me again.

i have worked in shops and believe me ... its exactly the same..

any person working in the public sector are open to mindless people who think we are there to be used and abused,

its the same in any other sales job too.

i think its a British Thing..

Do as Jeff1 said but holding a newspaper up as well.

You shouldn't be so stressed out shammy, not with all the national radio airtime you've been getting.  I'm sure I've heard your name mentioned on Radio 2 loads recently.

Simon.

Gazza's right, but some people want a battle. They are determined to catch you out, I've had them follow me from room to room inside as I clean. Usually not long after they dump me. Even if I was mr Pefect the outcome would be the same.
You come too often (it's on the computer and you asked for it) you just come when you feel like it (you asked for eight weeks). I must be in when you do the job, then go out just before you finish so they don't have to pay you. It doesn't matter you can come back on friday night etc.

you got it to do they add it into the water system
there lies another good point the helo guys leave by the back door type lol you got to laugh at the extent people go to avoid paying
i had one guy that insists in paying his bill minuss the stamp each month  cost me 1.24 just to up lift a six pound door lol that is the reason i gave up collecting in the first place
i am going to teach him the error of his ways and charge him double nxt month and say i aint recived payment till he takes the hint
the things they come away with would they try this at tesco i dont think so

I don't get much of this, I'm happy to say. I am in the process of converting my customers to wfp. I did a lot today who hadn't been wfp before. I explained as i went if they were in. A couple said "well, we'll she how it turns out". I know I did a good job on them, so if it's not to their satisfaction, it's cheerio. Small domestics I should add, not big contracts. 99% are grateful and polite to me. Long may it continue :) :)
