Hi Joe

I have a 100 metre roll of it in the workshop but in the size I have currently got it is not suitable for general use (3 mm id).  We are looking into having a different size manufactured for us.

I prefer the 5mm id for all my poles.

Thanks for that alex.

I am currently using/experimenting with the silicone algarde hose and I think it's fantastic stuff. It's also so light!

One little problem with the fantastic Algarde 100metres - comes from the factory when its wound on, the first say 5m gets crushed flatter by the rest of the roll into an elongated O section. so in some cases its better to get the length you need from the aquarium shop round the corner.
Its non kink.

Alex, can you still use your flow valves etc with that stuff?

Hi Davew

No, you can't.  In fact for most set ups the 3 mm id 5 mm od silicone hose is not suitable for WFP work. The flow rate it produces is just not enough to be usable (Jeff B has a slightly different set up to most people).  If you did manage to get it working, you can buy a simple flow valve that pushes into it from Aquarium shops.

We are working on a new specification high performance silicone hose for our poles.  It will have many of the qualities of the Algarde hose but will provide a suitable flow rate for our needs.  Watch this space.
