Best upholstery vac?
« on: October 13, 2004, 08:02:03 pm »
What do you use to pre vac upholstery? I find that the hoover attatchments are to small and fiddley, and the hand held "dirt devil" not very effective.
Anyone use the turbo head that fits on the HWE vac hose? I suppose I would need a dust downer with one of these?
thanks

Chris,

I have used turbo-heads with my HWE (+ dust downer) but have built an electric power-head for this purpose.

Sebo make a turbo-head for their machine which I understand to be effective, and I know a number of cleaners use a Kirby attachment with the vacuum of their choice.

I use numatic,s for upholstery as you can get 4 different types of brush head.
I have not got a power brush.

Does anybody  know if numatic do one ?

I use the industry standard the Henry on all vacuuming, what a turbo head and a dust downer.

Len,

A turbo head is a device that incorporates a rotating  brush, similar to that found on an upright vacuum cleaner, driven by the vacuums' airflow.

A dust-downer is a device that injects water into the vacuum hose to convert dry soil int dirty water. You have one at the back of your shed that you bought from Ashbys some years ago, and have since forgotten (silly old sod  ;D)
