Is this a Fake Picture
« on: July 28, 2007, 07:24:53 pm »
This was posted last week by another member, (John Garrnett) I was impressed by the women W/C's and saved it.

I was Looking at it tonight and was wondering if part of it was fake?? The only reason I ask is.....If you look at the woman on the left and study the picture closely, she is using an A frame ladder, thats not the problem, if you take a look....it is on a pitched roof, this roof is sloping to the right, this tells me that the base of the ladder can't even be in the guttering (I can't even see any)

I can't see it tied off anywhere, also how did she get onto the ladder? the empty ladder to the right, is to far away, for her to step onto it, I know she could have come through the window, but how is that ladder restrained from falling or twisting??? and how do you think she got onto the ladder???
Just something for you to look at on a wet saturday night.

After studying a little more, I see its not a pitched roof, it is the drainpipes, but the ladder still does not go all the way to the ground, Still confused.

Levitation.

My guess is she climbed the ladder in the middle walked across the pitched roof and pull the ladder up but god knows what it's resting on.

I just enlarged the picture as well. I think we may have come to the same conclusion.

What's at the bottom of the big ladder? Is that a safety device?

What really gives it away as a fake is that little bloke on the left using a water fed pole, and the fact that the girl only has one leg.

And what about the stealing my work thread?
That's his third post.
In his first post he said he'd never seen a wash pole before and would have to get one?

So, same question.

It's a flat roof, what looks like a piched tiled roof is the the brickwork, the ivy makes it look angled.

Hi Jeff
The picture comes from a book about women doing jobs in the war
I used it on my leters to my customers to explain that we were going over to WFP
I think she is on a roof ,but the only thing i am not sure of is was the use of alloy ladders about then ?

She is on a flat roof/canopy above the door, but I never realised they were aluminum I thought they were wooden ones, I don't think aluminum ladders were around during the war days.

I was going to put an old picture on one rear door and one modern picture on the other door with the captions saying the past and the future (with a modern picture of wfp)
Maybe a few lines on each door saying
OLD Picture:-                                New Picture:-
      Barrow                                 Motor vehecle
      Bucket                                 Pure water Technology
      Shammy                               Mobile Phone
      Ladders                                Computers
                                                Sat-Nav
I'm sure it would grab a lot of attention and maybe become a talking point.
The More attention thats gained, could lead to more customers.

Whats with the ladder on the right, is it a triple with only 2 extended or something, If so that would make it a 48ft ladder and theres no way those 2 little ladies are standing a 48ft ladder

Pat, we would be supprised with what the woman had to do during the war. many Jobs were done by woman that were only ever done by men.

It certainly looks like a triple ladder to me.

The picture idea -for the back of your signed van- is a good idea Jeff. But the execution must be brilliant and brief. This is not the photo, it does not convey what you want to say (the females are a distraction).
You have the germ of an idea which needs to be a lot sharper.

Basicaly, i'm against it because to deliver this you would have to sacrifice other things. I vote for simple
but well done reflections window cleaning with big phone number and a couple of customer benefits. Additional services too if you must.

And since you first said it and with Pat's comment I think the photo is fake.
