Emergency call out cleaning

HI, HAS ANYONE QUOTED B4 ON EMERGENCY CALL OUT CLEANING, ITS A NEXT DAY  RESPONCE, IF SO HOW MUCH SHOULD U CHARGE

its just when they need a room cleaned for the next day, so if they call monday they want someone to come down next day and clean it.

Thats not emergency cleaning in the true sense. Lots of estate agents operate like this, expecting you there the same day or next at the latest.
Emergency cleaning is a 2 hour response where you can then charge a call out fee and enhanced rates for the clean.

in van on way home at 5.00 phone rang , call out in cambridgeshire to support drainage engineers in a domestic, foul water in floor void,

KERCHING

guys on site within 75minutes

happy client

have a great weekend
back in lincoln monday and tuesday

some while back a lady called me to say someone had egged her window (this was at 6pm) could i come around now to clean it, i replied by saying i could call around sometime the next day but she wanted it done there and then, to which i replied it will cost you £20.

i drove the van around (only 2 mins away) and it took me 5 mins to clean it all off and she duely paid me my £20 call out fee.

ye thats what that client is calling it emergency cleaning, its a 24 hour responce time. so do u think i should charge more for this, say if im charging £ 40 to clean a room ill just double it to £80.....

Charge what you think the customer will pay. If they want it done quick they must expect to pay more than normal rates.

just a quicky as nobody seems to no, how much would you charge to clean 12 normal sized rooms with a bed and kitchen in each of them, everwhere cleaned top to bottom with oven cleaned out, can only do 6 rooms per day as well so it will be over 2 days. Any help would be great!!

Hi Matthew

The reason 'no one seems to know' is because each cleaning job has its own unique quirks (like how dirty is it, will there be people on-site who will hinder the operation, do you have to drive miles to collect keys, are there lots of stairs and stuff which will increase the time spent humping your equipment round the place? etc) and also your own quirks (like how fast do you work, will you be needing many tea/coffee/fAg breaks, what time you are at your peak? etc).

As has been said already (and its as good as it gets i'm afraid m8) you need to add up your costs, decide how much you want to make out of it, and decide what you think the client will pay.

If you have an indication of what they would have to pay one of your competitors then this will help. It may also be to your advantage if it is that they need the work doing soon (if of course you can do it in the timescale they require).

As for the 'emergancy' call out, you really need to get this spot-on and find out what they would have to pay another company to do it. Base your price on that. Its no good saying you will charge double your price as another company MAY do it for less, and at the same time its no good saying double as another company MAY charge more than your double. You dont want to outprice yourself or charge too little.

If the rooms have been deep-cleaned already you need to assertain what condition they may be in when they've been occupied and then vacated again.

Who is it that will be executing the 'emergancy work' ? Will they require more money? Will they be reliable? Etc.

thanks for that reply stephen, i just wanted to no if anyone else has cleaned a property like this i dnt want exact figures just a rough estimate, how many more times i gota say lol, with the whole tea and coffee break thing, its nt doin a decortating job have a breather and a chat with the client, its get in do the job  and get out, lol i dnt no how you run your business but sounds like a mothers tea party than actuall cleaning, lol
Also i aksed abt the emergency cleaning because believe it or nt this is a cleaning forum where other cleaning companies go on, so thats how i was hoping to get information on how much to charge, but thanks for your advice anyway.

thanks for the advice, but i have already posted information on this job, which bertie had commented on, i did mention that in the comment i wrote. i am fairly new to cleaning bt been doin it for 4 years. Anways, heres the information:

12 rooms cleaned every 3 months
ovens will prob be fairly dirty
will b using 2 staff
can only do 6 rooms per day, so be a 2 day job
 workers will have  hlf hour break every 3 hours.

any other info needed....

Well thanks you DG you've said what i would have said in reply so no need for me to add to it.

I dont run a 'mothers tea party', however, i DO need a cuppa at certain points during the day, i can't help that as i'm only human. If the client is old they will invariably expect you to sit and have a cup of tea with them, i dont mind this because you can bet your bottom dollar they dont need as much cleaning work (and i charge the same) so the least i can do is take the (much appreciated on my part i might add) time to spend 10 minutes with them.

I know my own quirks, like no matter how long a job SHOULD take it will always take all bloomin' morning if its a first job because i am not at my best first thing. By the afternoon im 'a buzzin'  because i 'peak' at about 4pm.

Obvioulsy when there are staff involved its more complicated of course.

But no, rest assured, my working day is far from a tea party.

thanks for the advice. ye your price you quoted sounded abt what i was thinking of, i was goin to charge around the £60 per room, so might charge £70.00 now For the emergency am gona charge £ 70 per call out
U dont no if u have done this , but have u come across steam cleaning or machine cleaning beds and sofas before as they may want this done as well....

never done it myself and don't know anyone who specializes in this sorry but again you would have to have all correct equipment etc and weigh up whether you will be making enough of a profit from the job to justify the cost of equipment (no idea how much it costs to buy or hire so can't help on that score)I would only add an extra £30 on max for this added service as I don't think they are gonna go for over £100 per room.I may be wrong!
