Nearly a year
« on: July 05, 2007, 07:51:26 pm »
Well nearly a year has passed...and I am still in the game....

Today I had the first day where I can truely say ' I enjoyed work today'... I have enough work to pay the bills now which is 'good' and the next year is all about making it more ....

Without you all I would have sunk many times and eventually stayed down...but as I approach my first year...I am looking forward to a new way of life and dare I say it a new approach to life..

All I can say to you all is thanks for your help, advice (some I ignored to my cost) and general banter.

Thanks
Dave.

Totally with you, have enjoyed reading your posts, canvassings, employing canvassers and leafleting.  Custys all trying to pull back to 8 weeks when you really needed more custys and trying to work out the best move  All good stuff.

Keep it up :)

And I agree with whats been said, the individuals on this site have given me some massive amounts of motivation when I have needed it.
Kudos to you and all of them.

Well done Dave.
I'm finding it tough going at the moment so it's good to read a success story.

Thanks mate.

That's good to hrear.  I found the first couple of yewars the most difficult.  There have been difficult periods since then but they only happened because I worked in isolation and knew no better.  None of us have to do that any more.

We hear time and time again from customers "my window cleaner hasn't come back"!

Why?????

Well in the first 3 years we deal with all sorts of issues from building our round, dealing with customers good and bad, collecting, advertising, stigma, weather etc....

Now you will find and I am sure those who have done this will agree, once you pass the 3 year mark customers believe in you, they recommend you, your business will develop organic growth year in year out. Your belief in your company will get better and you will enjoy what is a very good industry to work in.

Congratulations on getting to the 1st year, keep it going and as with everything in life, if you look after it, it will look after you!

Good luck!

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh another 2 years of ups and downs.....I thought that this time next year I would be a millionaire... :'(

Do you know I think that after a year I am finally getting myself used to this WFP and all its oddities...

Ok then...another 2 years it is....left foot in front of right then repeat...ok...

I believe that in order to be where I would like to be given the averages that I have with regard to time/size/costs 240 is the number I am looking for....

This would give me a nice living...allow 20 days holiday (working week) and 10 days off due to sickness, vech trouble, rain/snow/iced off...so far this year I have been weathered off for 2 days but have not lost financially so am within target...so really am aiming at making my years money in 46 weeks. In reality I imagine that 3 years will be the mark where things really start to come together.

Hope this helps but as with all projections...everything is subject to change.

Dave.  ;D

It seems like you have really thought things through
it is good to do things that way and set little targets
when you reach these targets it makes you feel so much better helps with motivation which as i am sure you know is one of the hardest things about window cleaning

i should listen to my own advise!!! ;D
