SAFETY POLICY - HELP
«

Hi,
It looks like I've got the contract for a large hotel (only two floors high), but they're putting me through my paces to complete the quote. (With method statements and risk assessments, etc).
They now want
A COPY OF MY SAFETY POLICY.
A STATEMENT RELATING TO SAFE SYSTEMS OF WORK.
They also want: CONFIRMATION OF THE TRAINING YOUR STAFF HAVE RECEIVED IN RELATION TO THE SAFETY IMPLICATION OF THIS JOB FUNCTION AND WHO WILL MANAGE SITE OPERATIONS.
This is a difficult one as my staff consists of me and the missis and we've had no formal training. Any ideas how to tackle this one?
I'll be using ladders - which are acceptable to this hotel chain.
Any help here would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Tosh.
PS. Craig Mawlam - I'll attend your courses on Health and Safety - promise!

if you have less than five employees, then you do not need to have a written health and safety policy, you might like to try that.

Thanks for the info, however, straight after I put this post up, I went into Google and found a window cleaning health and safety policy which was very comprehensive.
I'd rather just give one, rather than argue that I don't require one; (because I'm just small fry).
If anyone wants my copy, give me a shout and I'll e-mail it.
Cheers.

Glad you got the H&S Policy sorted even though you do not strictly need one (less than 5 employees) they're not difficult to produce. There is still a lot that the Hotel may ask of you though, best of luck once you've provided all they require things will probably settle down. Its as much hassle for them as it is for you so they won't be keen to rpeat the excercise in a hury so you'll probably keep the job for some time.
Luck forward to meeting you on one of the BWCA courses, we'll be in new premises in November with all the training aids under one roof.
Kind regards
