What brush do you use for con roof’s?

What brush do you use for con roof’s?

I use a Vikan 11” jetted with a 12ft extender for these job’s but feel that a different brush may give me some extra scrubbing power.

Are there any better options what alternatives would you recommend?

Thanks

Wayne, i did a couple of conservatory roof last week, just used my 18ft pole with vikan 11" jetted and also a sweeping brush which was in the customers garden.

Well underpriced them aswell at £25.00 each, wont be making that mistake again

It depends how bad the roof is. I quoted for one yesterday that was absolutely minging. There were weeds growing in the gutters and the glass (yes its glass!) roof is green with algae. The consrevatory is over 50 years old. It looks like the roof has never been cleaned ever.

Its going to need a good long scrub with a car cleaning brush and lots of washing up liquid. The brush I will buy from Halfords and it fits on my extension pole. Its the type thats made as an accessory for the pressure washer.
No way my Vikan brush is going anywhere near it

I use a vikan now and again but its a little bit soft. I now use this one I got from a local supplier, the bristles are to stiff for windows as their is not much give in the bristles and it struggles with the angle of the frames.

I nickname it the shredder, It as cut my time down by half on Con roofs, and its superb, heres a pic, I put it on my old extender pole, Nice light brush to boot.

Nope, Customer was happy as Larry.

You will have to go some to scratch it, The water acts as a nice Lubricant.

I think it’s a question of a happy medium. I’ve had success with the Vikan, but always looking to improve on speed.

I was on this case a couple of weeks ago and was going to try Gaz’s Tuff brush but like a few of us we are not sure what’s happened to him.

The question of scratching a Polycarb roof has also crossed my mind. Apparently they have a UV coating on them so using something too strong could cause some damage.

@ Neil
Where did you buy the brush from and was it all kitted up with jets etc.

As for pricing it looks like I’ve got that one just about right Min £45. One on Sat @ £65, 4 side’s.

What about the supa lite brush is this Mono or flocked bristles?

I got it from my local cleaning supplier.

Its a vikan brush, They class it as a floor brush. The bristles are firm but not overfirm as say in a decking brush.

I just put a couple of 2mm jets in.

Superlights are flocked but don't have that much scrubbing power.

Superlights are my favorite for windows due to their weight. I reckon the heavier the better for roofs - just let it rest there and scrub. Probably those cheap ones that fit a hosepipe would be best - a bit like the Vikan sill brush in shape. Just my thoughts. :)

Matt would using a pressure washer not damage the seals?? Use to much pressure and surely you'll damage the seals?
