If matt wants to carry an extra 1000L's then so be it.

I would advise you on one thing, and thats to use bungee cords instead of a ratchet and strap.

At least if you break hard with the bungee's there will be a bit of play where as if you were to use a ratchet it would rip the bars clean off.

Why not go all the way and stick a couple of gas canisters up there and make it thermo as well.  Just beware of flashing blue lights.
