Someone on the forum mentioned saving water by using triggers on their poles to control water flow a little while back. If you're reading this could you let us know where you got them please?

Gaz got me onto these triggers,they are the ones from the numatic(george) wet and dry machine,you can get them for about £25,you will save so much water,i have all my poles fitted with these triggers,they are excellent.

I'm still a little confused as to where exactly it fits on???

Because when you extend your pole the hose has to be pulled up the pole.

Maybe i'm missing something real simple (a brain)

You fit the pole trigger about 4-6 inches from the bottom of the base section of the pole and connect the WFP hose that runs through you pole to the trigger and leave it permanently connected. Then you connect your water supply to the opposite end of the trigger attachment. I've tried one. It's not bad but the downside to it is if you are doing tall window panes then you really need to move the trigger connection up and down the pole as you go along plus the fact that if you are cleaning a lot of glass surface you have to keep the trigger depressed a long time which strains the tenons and ligaments. Good idea though. Can be bought as mentioned above by Varitech in Newton Abbot.
I prefer to attach a leather holster with the microbore tap to the top part of the base section of my WF pole by means of velcro straps leaving me to switch it on and forget it until I need to switch it off again. It does save water and a lot less hassle than wearing a belt with the leather holster and tap attached.

sorry mate this was me that mentioned that the other night. i've been working on my roof today and only just got in. it was gaz that recommend it to me and they are the bizz. i'll take a pic tomorrow and post it up tomorrow.

I appreciate that as I'm still having trouble trying to visualise how they fit onto the pole in view of the fact that, as someone else mentioned, the microbore goes up and down the pole when you extent it. Think they're a gr8 idea though, especially as I will be working from a trolley.

This way when you are moving from window to window you just squeeze your trigger and this stops wastage and loss of water.

Surely this must mean that unless you are using your pole fully extended there will be a loop of pole hose around your feet waiting to trip you up?

The loop doesn't really get in the way. You soon get use to it and to be honest you don't even really notice it.

if you hold your on/off valve in your hand when you are poling then the trigger will do the same but without the awkward handling problems.
