Oven Cleaning

Can you really make money out of Oven cleaning?
Avergae Job £50 need 5 Jobs a day to make £250.
I only ask because I was in the same place as a Oven Cleaner Yesterday and he says that he has to do this amount of work to make ends meet. He says it takes about 1 1/2hrs to 2 hrs per job, thats £25 per hr before you even take out expenses. Marketing cost must be high to get the number of calls to convert 5 Jobs a day.
He was Shocked when I told him that Carpet Cleaners can earn that in 3 hrs. Are we over pricing or is Oven Cleaning to cheap.
Cheers
Neil

If you clean properly no way you could do 5 in a day,3 is the max and that depends on distance between jobs.
I often wonder how anyone forking out upto 20k for a franchise manages to recoup outlay.
My brother in law was unemployed so i set up an oven cleaning business for him and it gives him a living but we have had to spend very heavily on marketing in first year.Depending on size of oven it would be difficult to charge more than £50
£40 is nearer the average.

realisticly the most you will do in a day is around £200. as a stand alone business its quite hard going , advertising costs can be high .
as an add on to an existing business its a great addition. your overheads are mainly covered,(ie phone etc). you already have existing customers to sell to by letter phone etc, if you have a good reputation people already trust you. for existing carpet cleaners the 2 run brilliantly side by side and you will pick up work very easily.
