Backdating George
« on: May 27, 2007, 09:20:57 pm »
Just got george and have started loading up from today. I really wanted to start from when I began in February. Can it be worked backwards so to speak? So that my previous cleans could be entered?

It was however time consuming

Mmm I haven't found an easy way, just entering my up to date list is bad enough. Not a fault of George I have to say, just time consuming entering all the customers. I would like my complete year in there though.

I think if you go in the history of each customer you would be able to enter previous cleans in there.

Time consuming! What a brilliant program it is! I've loaded in all my regulars and it gives me a predicted earning potential of £15000 for the year - not too bad for part time. I'm going full time in a couple of weeks so some serious canvassing is now required.

Hi

To "backfeed" your work, select the Job, enter the actual Done Date, tick Paid if it's paid and then save it.

Don't forget to make sure the Next Due Date is correct when you enter the last previous completion.

While you are on, just say again so pleased that I got George, it's brilliant.

One question, I have a laptop as well as a pc, can i put it on the laptop without buying it again?

I can do this with my other programmes, but i have a disk for them.

so how do you keep them both updated , do you tick the right boxes on your pc and then again on the laptop (doubleing all the entries)

No,

I just enter all the data on my lap top then one a week I take the back up file off the lap top and shove it in the pc and run restore data. Easy

Tried that, my registration code is three digits, three digits, three digits,. But it is asking for four on the first set and says i've entered the wrong code.(trying to register demo version on laptop).

Hi

You don't need the Registration Code - just restore your last backup.

Success. You are some kind of genius Paul, why aren't on beach spending all the lolly from your brilliant programme, or completing three sets of the times cross word at the same time instead of helping me- but thanks anyway.

The trick was to download the restore bit and then use it with george not open.
