Depends on how dirty, how much furniture, how many stains, hall, stairs and landings do vary in size. If you are truckmounted it will be quicker than portable.
Also depends on how much you charge.

T/L 45mins-  extra 30mins for the HSl,  so 1hr.15mins  (1hr 30mins inc cup of tea)

this is vacing pre-spray, scrub, extract

£110-£130 so your price is right unless you were there all morning.

lots of carpet cleaners will clean the landing & stairs then into the livingroom then the hall last, but its better to clean the livingroom first then put some airmovers in and have it drying while you clean the rest, this way they can have the L/R dry quickest because they will need that room first.

Set up and set down I'd say 2 hours but I'd have gone for £160 ish and £240 with protector.

John

I would allow 2 hrs 30 min to 3 hrs for a job like that.

Some of these lads just cant be doing a proper job, working at that speed  ;)  ;D   ;D   ;D   ::)

Mike, can I ask, are the times that you quote for a one or two man team ?

just me, how can a job like that take 3hrs?

a good vaccing 20mins max , the prespray and scrub would take 15mins, leaving  the extraction  30mins set up & put away 10mins.

I must admit this is on an average through lounge (which is usually around 24ft) & HSL,  Johns example is slightly bigger so would take slightly longer.

Hi Mike,

What about time for furniture moving and tabs / blocks ?

In a 30 ft L/D you will probably have a suite, T/V unit, Dining table and 6 chairs, possible corner units and display cabinets ?

They all need moving / replacing and tabbing ?

I couldnt do all of that, and extract the lounge / diner + HSL in 30 mins mate !

To be honest , I dont think that I could extract it all in 30 mins !

A set of stairs would take 15 mins or so ?

I am not doubting your word, but just think that you are not the " average" carpet cleaner  ::)  ( perhaps its the six fingers and other stuff that makes you so fast ? )

  :)

Cheers

a suite takes 20 seconds to move, I don't move TVs. (and if I do I pull it out, clean, then push it back takes 30seconds)  corner unit  & display cabinets  usually the customer doesn't want to empty them so i clean up to them.

tabbing, this also takes a couple of minute, the chairs I'd put in the kitchen and tell the customer to replace them when the carpet is dry.

I'm not trying to justify how I can clean so quickly, its just about working efficiently.

the big time taker is stains.

Because you work in a particular way and at a particular pace, that does'nt make you better than someone who has better technique and more energy.

At 62 the job discussed would take me, working alone, about 90 mins.

did a room on friday  339 squarefoot, only dining table and two sofas to move
got there at 9.30,
pre-vaced, used a micro splitter as pre spray, agitated with sebo duo, let dwell for a few mins while i drank my tea, then extracted
finished at 10.30  cost £183.06
lady was over the moon and have already booked a job from a relative
with my truckmount it was truley a easy job
