i wondered what everyone thought about a feedback page for kit we have bought
we must have bought loads of different kit does anyone think it would be agood idea to state what is good and bad about the equipmenyt without slaging off the maker. hopefully it would help makers think about what they are producing. any thoughts

I think a page for feed back would be great.
After all they get to advertise on here so why not rate them as a supplier.

kit problems
do we need feedback page
The title of this thread really says it all.
All you would get is subjective therefore probably innacurate feed back. We all like a good moan now and then and this would only encourage it to happen here.
There is already plenty of good info and help for people here.

sorry i can't quite understand subjective feedback how do you mean. if i say that i bought a bit of kit but found xyz was aproblem surely someone considering buying that kit would be able to see its faults and make a more objective decision. iknow i would love to get some feedback before buyinga piece of kit. for example i bought a vac for gutters and took a loan out for it but i nwo think it was hardly worth the money. surely flagging this up would help others who might think it was the answer for them

I think its a great idea
At least we would get impartial advice before we go out and buy stuff. After all the point of sale stuff only tells one side of what it can do, but not what it cant.

What about the sponsors of this forum? This forum is paid for by someone and they have a purpose and a reason. That has to be considered when coming up with new ideas.
I also think a feedback part would just become like East Enders and other soaps, all moans and no solutions and somewhere where all that happens is people moan.
I think the current setup is fine as it is.

this subject was brought up last year, it never went ahead, we are not allowed to make public any complaints against suppliers, it was sugested if we have any complaints you need to take it up with the suppliers direct, also did you know the forum owners themself can be sued if they allowed us to say bad things about a suppliers product, so i think we have to be careful how it is done, if it where allowed

Could it be done giving the product a mark out of 10?
This page would be beneficial to all of us, dare i say the suppliers too! It could prompt new innovations from manufacturers and suppliers, like some of our fellow wcers do, and help them to actually realise faults in their equipment.

I suppose a lot depends on how things are worded.
A simple example for instance comparing say Ionics and Omnipole poles.
You could say something like:-
Ionics poles can be fairly light. The standard 3mm jets seem a bit large thus using a lot of water. It would be helpful if they allowed extra spare pole hose on their poles - especially for people working from a trolley.
Omnipole powerpoles are a bit heavier. The 2mm jets supply sufficient water for W/Cing but may get blocked occasionally. A big plus is the "twist" clamp that allows quick release of the brush and the fitting of additional tools. Plenty of spare pole hose is supplied though this may sometimes lead to getting in a tangle with the main hose if care isn't taken.
Now that is a very brief summary (and personal opinion) of some issues with certain Ionics and Omnipole poles. I can't imagine either company being offended by that - indeed they may even welcome such feedback. Both products are OK but each has its pros and cons - which may or may not be relevant depending on how you work.

I have a classic example this morning bought an ro membrane from the warehouse??? you know the one
no instructions on how to fit had to ask you guys spent yesterday evening fitting it great falling tds left overnight turn up this morning no tank full of water have spent afrustrating 2 hours tying to get flow from ro just a trickle. the ro housing says make sure all air is bled out before pressurising HOW NEITHER MANUFACTURER OF RO OR SUPPLIER OF MEMBRANE TELLS US.
IN THE WORDS OF SOMEONE WE ALL KNOW
EDUCATION EDUCATION EDUCATION
p.s. if any of you clever wfp users know how i'd like to know

I always like to get feedback from customers, it lets me know where we can improve.
