Couple of my lads did a new clean on a property that some southerners had just bought in our area, standard town house, 7 windows on the front, 8 at the rear, over three levels, WFP.

When they were done the guy was delighted with the job and asked "How much?", "£18" was the reply, "No bother, I'll just get my chequebook".

He then happily wrote out a cheque for £80 and gave it to the lad!! 

It was only when his error was pointed out that he said he couldn't understand the accent and thought he had said £80, he couldn't believe that he was getting it done for JUST £18, he had expected it to be about £50 or more as that is what he would have paid in Oxford!!

God, I wish I worked in your areas !!

I meant to type I wish I could earn that sort of money.  I think £18 for a town house is good.  Was round my Mums on her pc, no beer at that point.

£50 a town house and you could retire.

out of interest is this the type of town house you guys are on about





This is one that i do and really hate it cos of the stupid glass panels at the back, this means i can only do the top half of the glass.

And the lady of the house wants the glass balcony at the front cleaning both sides. 

I get £15 for this job but really don’t like it.

We do get work up that way but it's often not economical for us to do it.  On the window cleaning we cover as far north as Bamburgh/Belford.
