Freedom trolley and car?
« on: May 02, 2007, 02:31:41 pm »
I'm considering moving over to wfp in the near future. However, much of my round is on an estate where even with a 100 metre hose you'd have problems reaching some of it. So I,m currently looking at somethng like the freedom trolley for compactness and just doing tops only with it at first and tradding the downs. My problem with this idea is that I'd rather not change my car at present. (Nissan Primera saloon)
I,m thinking of transporting the trolley on a board on the rear seat and the water in a container/contaners in the boot. I live within 1/4 mile of all my work and lunch at home every day so I could probably get away with 100-125 litres stored on the vehicle.

Can anyone tell me if they have tried to transport a freedom trolley on the back seat of their car and how they get on with it in general. Ease of manouvering in and out of vehicle and on the job etc? Is it well ballanced when full an so on?

Any info on or experience with this system including how well the rest of it works in a very hard water area would be much apreciated.

Regards to all,

Mark

I and 3 of my mates have the Freedom trolley. I use a van mount system but find it invaluable for the places where I cant get a hose out to. often now I use the trolley on a lot of properties rather than dragging out loads of hose to get snagged up. For me it's horses for courses really.

I wouldnt want to use it from the back seat of a car or any other trolley for that matter. If you dont want to change your car I would try a back pack. The trolley is very compact and would probably fit but personally I wouldnt do it.

2 of my mates have estate cars and use it from them with no probs at all. It folds down real quick and is very easy to lift in and out. I find it very well balanced and easy to move around. A Vectra estate is pretty big so I would say go for it.  I think it's an absolutely cracking piece of kit and wouldnt want to be without it now.

Hi Borg,
Working the way you do (wfp tops and trad downs) how much water do you have to take with you say for a 4 hour morning?

LOL  DUH!!! Dont know how to do quotes  ::)

When you do move on to a van mount sys just use your trolley as the powerplant. Set up a quick connection from tank to trolley inlet and just plug your reel in and bingo.. you have a van mount.  :) You can always then just unplug it when you need the trolley on it's own.

Tops only for half a days work 4 or 5 containers I would say. My mates working from their estate cars use about 8 containers for a full day.

Thanks guys. This is all very helpful.

Anyone any info on the speed that the RO units supplied with the Freedom trolley produce pure water in a very hard water area and how much waste there is in relation to pure water with this unit? I know the units are listed as 100/200/300 gal per day, but I'm given to understand that it varies according to how hard the water going in is. So any info from someone using one of these RO units in a very hard water area would be helpful.

Thanks again,

Mark

Yeah where's he gone?  Maybe the dog bit him  lol

I have a Pure Freedom 300 GPD  RO sys and get a 1 to 1 waste to pure ratio. The waste ratio goes up with the smaller units. Hardness doesnt really make any diff on waste output.

Hi Simon,
Somehow 'Milkman' doesn't look right on a window cleaning forum.

Hi Mark

Do I take it that M & C cleaning is an indication of things to come then?

Bright Clean
How much water do you get from the 300 gpd system.  Do you get the full 300 gallons?

Simon.

I have a 200 ro  with a booster pump, and can fill a 1000litre ibc in 30 hrs if thats any help. I starting out with 100 unit but have water pressure of only 29psi which was producing a whopping 90litres a day (without booster). Go for the 200 imo, better to have the potential to produce more if needed than find yourself short of water.
