Been looking at moving for ages finally decided on a place 20 miles from my current address. This means for 2 weeks a month a daily round trip of 40 miles to work and back. Most of my work for that period is within 3 miles of where i live now. Luckly i have built up a weeks work only 6 miles from the new place which means 1 week of 12 miles per day roughly. .The last remaining weeks work is in an area which will be a daily drive of 30miles each way It is a nice compact round though. Not sure if this last weeks work would do my head in driving 60miles 5 times a month. How far do you lads travel to work? Is 30miles to far? I suppose i could sell that week?

I live just outside Cambridge, so have got alot of work in this area, but i travel as far as Ipswich once a week, but local stuff id say i travel about 50-60 miles round trip!

hi i used to travel from prestatyn to stockport about 130 miles there and back twise a week,its no fun when you get stuck in trafic or its raining that bad when you arive you cant work

Got a couple a few miles past that, but 98% of my work is inside 5 miles.

Same as tatman almost exactly 20 miles there 20 miles back,and once i`m there i`ll do another 10miles travelling to jobs.A couple of times in a 6-8 weekly basis i have to do an 80 mile round trip for commercial work with good domestic work on the way home.

Almost all of my work is concentrated on one estate. This estate is 1 mile away from my house. I do a couple of cemercial jobs once a weeks which are 5 miles and 6 miles respectively.

about 5 mile radius i made a mistake of when i started keeping to local area  eg 2 pound fronts 6 to 7 all round  think i should have traveled  out of area  to bigger houses  when i hear u guys charging 20 to 30 per house  i feel i made mistake

i have one customer around the corner, but all my other work is between 25- 30 miles. (50- 60 mile round trip) Not ideal, but its worth it!

My furthest job is about 15 miles away.  The bulk of it is within 10 miles though and some of it is within 2 miles.

Most of my work is local - around 1 - 4 miles. 6 Miles is about the farthest.

i have to travel every day 20 miles there and back to all my work, and as mentioned, then drive round the work

i was worried about it in the start...dont even notice the journey any more mate, and now ive moved down here ive picked up loads around here 

i even go 40 miles away twice a month

Hi All

We cover a 60 mile radious of cannock, most is around 30 miles.

I find traffic worse than mile-age, we travel to bitmingham, approx 20 miles or less but is average of one hour travelling or more. But, we travel 30+ miles to near crewe & do it in 40 minutes, i would prefer to travel than sit in traffic.

We have a weekly job near crewe every friday, most weeks is good but sometimes we hit traffic, but i would still prefer to go there, this morning, leaving at 0630 for job in castle brom 1 hour minimum travel. Ilook constantly for work north of me for better journeys.

We travel anywhere up to 60/70 miles away from our base, however, we charge the client travelling time so it doesn't effect our hourly rate!

If you have several domestic customers in this area then I don't see a problem with 30 miles, we would do that without too much trouble.
