You could be there all day-depends on your cheque book. I genuinely found their NEC INTERESTING. Shame other suppliers couldnt make it or a££ord it. So because of distance, many and you wont be at the Fed show ?

I intend to go down to Worthing on Wednesday for a while.  I was a bit disappointed at not being able to see the Pro 10 in action at the NEC.  It sounds like that will now be possible.

I went to an Ionics roadshow at Watford in the Summer of 05.  At that time I wasn't even convinced that WFP worked.  I think their Thermopure was pretty new then and they were demoing it.  The only reason I am looking at the possibility of Pro 10 for the future is because it may turn out to be drought order compliant.  I suppose that being able to do high glass inside is a bonus but not my main motivation.  Either way, there is no way I could afford such a thing at the moment but maybe in a few years time if it looks like there may be regular water supply problems.

In the global context water may be the next oil.
For that reason the market for it may not primarily be in this country. But if I had the money I would have one. The bigger companies are buying them and as you said they also clean inside. It will be interesting to get feedback on the working machine, I suspect it may be a tad noisy.
Its a specialised tool at the moment.

Also, whatever it is at the moment, there is usually room for modifications in a Mark II or Mark III version etc.
I'm not particularly a fan of Ionics' pricing structure but it's possible that they may have hit on something with this idea.  I didn't think it was such a big deal until I discovered that the water is recycled and refiltered.  OK, so it would probably cost a lot to run in filters and the initial outlay is expensive but if it allows you to work during a water shortage then those are relatively minor considerations.

The water when its collected off the glass has a tds of about 50 -  so not heavy on the filters ?

The ? is appropriate because it's unclear as to what type of filter is used for the recycled water.  I think it's safe to assume that any pre-filters would be unnecessary as they would already have passed through those when entering a first RO (either in the vehicle or at a static unit).  However, the next question would be as to whether it goes through an RO membrane before the next DI polishing or whether it's straight through DI.  If there is water of 50 TDS needing to go through resin, my hope would be for a choice of a refillable vessel in preference to a sealed, colour change unit.  In fact, I would like such a choice anyway.
A hands on demo wasn't practical at NEC and I did ask one of the Ionics guys some detailed questions about the functioning of the Pro 10.  However, I didn't get detailed answers.  I don't think he was being deliberately uninformative - more like he was rushed off his feet when I was at the Ionics stand and it was probably better to speak to a lot of people but in less detail than I was asking.  The more laidback atmosphere of a roadshow should be helpful in getting more detailed info.

As I said earlier, I was asked to post the link because Ionics cannot. They have apparently been blocked by this forum from posting. I am sure your questions would have been answered directly if they were able tp reply themselves.

I would like to ask why Ionics are not allowed to post when other suppliers are actively selling ?
Its one sided and un dempocratic  :(

As Mike Boxall is in the system supplies business himself,  I can understand him either allowing other suppliers to post or NOT allowing other suppliers to post.  On the face of it, it does seem inconsistent allowing some but not others - though perhaps there are things we are not aware of.  I'm not even sure that it's anything to do with a company's size as I remember he didn't want Matt posting links to his DIY site either.
No problem having some rules to prevent suppliers degenerating the forum into an advertising circus but from what I've seen, everybody seems to be reasonably responsible on this issue.

I hadn't decided, but if you want to meet up, I'll try to get there about the same time as you Chris.  I think an hour or two should be enough time to see what I need to see.

I will aim for midday then.  Remember I'm travelling further than you so I may be a bit out with my timing.
