removable sofa/chair covers + filteration
« on: March 28, 2007, 07:36:32 pm »
Hi All

I have just started in the carpet cleaning buss., already set up in domestic cleaning and most of my customers are interested in getting sofas cleaned. Unbelievabley most of them have these sofas that have the removable covers - I suppose so that they can wash(??) them was the selling point, or just had them re-upholstered. Whats the story with cleaning these as they are loose (as such)? Do I need to pin them down?
Also a lot of the houses have a real problem with filtration around the skirting boards. Has anyone got any suggestions as to the best product/removal method?
Many thanks
Agnes ( Yes! a female carpet cleaner!)

I'd suggest you don't attempt to clean loose  / removable covers, it's not worth the hassle !

I presume you're referring to draught marks around the skirts; There are a few products which will deal with this, but make sure you vacuum thoroughly first, as wet dust  / fluff  / cat fur, is much harder to deal with when wet

Agnes, with all due respect an upholstery cleaning training course would be a smart option if you have a lot of enquiries and WANT to do the job correctly.
