ladders

hi just got a new set of ladders but as they are new they seem to be coated in a sort of grease that causes them to be very slippery and  my hands are black after i've finished because the grease and alluminium. Have youhad this before, what can I do to remove it?

ohh yes! thats quite anoying.

I use soapy water to get that off and a sponge removes most if it then hose it off. might have to do it twice tho

I'm pretty sure that all alloy ladders go that way, I think it's the aluminum being oxidized. So even if you wash them give it a few weeks and they will be greasy again.

I had the same problem. I took them to the local garage car jet  wash and cleaned it off with no problems ;D
better luck tommorow.......

Thorough clean with soapy water. Don't forget inside the end of the rungs as these are often particularly greasy, and our fingers get in there too!!
