Hi all.

           Picking up my new trolley system on Sat and need to keep asking questions.

1) I've ordered a 1000l IBC to purifiy water at home. How long (roughly) will it take to fill?

2) If I clean 15 detatched houses a day, how much water will I use?

3)If the 15 houses used around 200 litres, would I have to fill the IBC before using the water or only fill it half way?

Stupid questions but I'm alien to this at the mo.

its hard to say how long it will take to fill the ibc tank. depends on your r.o water pressure. i have a 4040ro and good water pressure and it would take probably 7 hours i guess to fill.
And your question about how much water? you will alot more than 200 ltres probably double

Its your RO thats producing the water
What system do you have?
Are you using the IBC for storage ?
Water usage will be high to start off with as you need to do lots of rinsing
to get the frames up to scratch.
Need more info from you to assist

Hi Bob.

1: What RO do you have?

2: I would use 200-250ltrs if some had cons as well.

3: I take it IBC means static, you can transfer all you want to.

You can double your water usage to begin with as you will have extra scrubbing & rincing. Plus you will waste water untill you start to get used to it.

Not sure what ro system it is. I will know more when I pick it up on sat. All i can say is its a freedom trolley and I paid another £50 to upgrade the ro.

Yes I will be using the IBC for storage at home so i suppose it would be best to fill up the IBC and then keep topping it up as I use it.

The most important thing in wfp is your RO
Find out what you are buying!
In my opinion you should get the biggest/best one you can afford.
Otherwise you will find with 6 -12 months you will be upgrading it.
I have a pro300GPD (thats 300 gallons per day)
Fills my IBC in a day and a bit.
I use between 600-800 litres a day (two man team)
So it will be shed loads for your trolley but you can turn it off when not required
and when you upgrade to a van mount you will not have to fork out again

I've the same as Russ. 300gpd RO MAN.

Like Russ said the RO is the most important bit. Check out what your getting cause you dont want to be up grading soon. A 300gpd is more than enough so i would recommend thats what you go for.

I think i have paid for a 200gpd RO. Will this be enough or shall i shell out another £50 for the 300?

shell out the £50 it will increase your production by 50%
and like I said will save you upgrading in the future

Will I need an electricity point outside for the filter or tank?

Again depends on your set up.
If you are storing the water in the IBC then transfering to your tank
then you will need a submersible pump and transfer hose to do the job.
If you are siting your RO outside also then it would be handy to have a double power supply outside.
Or run it off extension lead for now

the 200 will be fine for now if its the ro-man one you can allways upgrade later when you need to I use 200 gpd now with 2 man team and it keeps up with us no probs

can i just but in and ask a quick question here!

I am thinking of putting my RO and storage tank behind my garage i have a nice little spot for it! but my outside tap is about 7 meteres away basicly at the house would it be ok to run a hose to it? or would it loose to much presure?

iv seen some pics on the RO'S using small pipes

Just a couple of tips for you

1/  Make sure your IBC tank has an 8" lid not 5" it saves you having to cut a hole in the top for your submersible pump

2/  Fill your IBC then empty it and fill it back up your RO will prefer to run like that instead of stop starting
