I was giving my back up machine a run at the weekend there as it has not seen much use this year all was going well until the pump gave up with no warning.

It has a flojet 100psi pump  where is the best place to buy a new one & does the sureflow fit.?

Hi Stephen,

Repairing the flojets is a relatively easy task and will cost less than a replacement pump.  Its really down to how much money or effort you want to throw at it.

If money, then you can replace with a new flojet (whether the sureflo will fit depends on the machine i think) for about 110+vat

If you feel like repairing it, then describe what it does and i will try and help.  Parts are readily available and easy to fit.

I dont mid repairing it , it just stopped working altogether , cheched to see if there was any broken wires ect all ok & getting power.  I did notice theres a lot of water coming out the pump head though.

a 120psi pump is £115.00

It sounds very much like he pump has frosted. Pump heads are available but by the time you do that its better to buy a new pump. IMO shurflo are better than Flojet and have better performance with three pump chambers. If you have room in the machine fit a 135 induction motor pump- a bit more expensive but much more reliable--- as long as you dont switch on while there is pressure in the system.

Beware nthe next few nights with sub zero temps. Drian pumps and tool valves if you cannot btake them indoors.

Hi Stephen,

I agree with Kinver, it sounds like the pump head has cracked and it would probably be easier to replace. I think a shureflo 120 psi will fit, as prochem now use them in the steempro.  Check with them first thought as it would be a shame to find it doesnt fit.

Yesterday the pressure switch on the front of our 100psi flojet decided to burn out.  Easy to replace and cost only about £40.

Normally i would recommend www.wcsuk.com, but they messed us about a bit recently.  Alas, they got it sorted and will send the pump out overnight.  Maybe give them a bash.

Im now looking at a replacement for my steempro was thing of a speedster are they any good?

why replace it, I just put two new 1400w three stage motors and a more powerful pump in  mine and its now s%*t hot

I replaced the gasket on the collection tank aswell, I also took everything out of the machine including the plate that the motors bolt onto and give it a good clean, then resealed the plate to the machine and also put sealant on the bottom of the motors when I fitted them.

I have also fitted a submersion heater into the clean water tank so that the water is already hot before it gets to the inline heater.

I can`t see the point in replacing a machine completely, after all it is only 2 vacs and a pump replace them you got a new machine
