there's so many float devices out there for a tenner its hardly worth while making anything to solve the overflow problems, but hey i ain't going to let that beat me  so here's something i spotted that looks simple and very promising, you could fit this device just as you would a bath under your water tank, when it reaches a certain level it just opens up, but i would be smart, not wasting any water, have a large container to catch the overflow, have a look, i know there are even better ones on the market, just an idea folks
