How about this, I know we all have done things we shouldn't have....but....
1 side of the ladder on the frame the other an inch from the glass.
I didn't hang around long enough to see how he did the window above the porch.
Not very good quality coz it was my camera phone through the van window.

Stupid thing is, he only needs to push the ladder up another few inches and he could rest it on the brickwork! Ok he might need to bring the base of the ladder out a little way, but I know what I'd prefer...

Dear me.

Just step on to the roof and hang on to the sill.

So one hand on the sill the other cleaning mmmm so you havent got any insurance then as you well know if your using a ladder you should alwasy have one hand on the rung and if you fall the first thuing the insurance company will say is well were not paying out beacuse he obviously wasnt using his ladders correctly.

Well I wondered how exactly he was gonna clean those 3 panes, he can't reach the left side, the ladder is stopping him doing the middle, so he can only do the right hand side unless I'm missing something ???

Same distance though to the center pane if he put it on the right hand wall side of the window to start with, I just couldn't see why he put it where he did to start :-\

This is where ladder mitts are so useful.
It's a game of three halves!

He could extend the ladder more and would need to bring the ladder out as you say but maybe the car parked below him would stop him from doing that?
Maybe he could even rest it on the fascia but it might be hard cleaning the glass - especially nearer the bottom when he would have to reach in more.

I've used my van that way occasionally in years gone by.  Wouldn't do it now though.

Upon closer inspection of the picture I'm thinking that he forgot he wasn't  using a pointer ladder.  On the other hand he could just be an idiot.

Shaun,
If someone needs to be trained NOT to do what that chap is doing, then there really is something wrong.
Common sense should kick in ::) surely
