pressure clean advice

Hi Y'all
bought hubby a pressure washer for his b/day at the weekend nothing too fancy just an Argos job, he has wanted one for ages for washing the cars..what I would like to know though is can they be used on the exterior of a house? We live in a cottage which I think was re-built in the thirties it has been pebble dashed (is that term still used?) at some time and the previous owner once indicated it would look better if it is was cleaned . Now much as I enjoy my own cleaning work I never relished the idea of getting round the outside with bucket and sponge..ruddy heck I do go on...can I use PW on outside of house bearing in mind it's not some kind of industrial machine?
many thanks

Hello Norma,
A few things to consider when doing a house wash in a diy situation, windows, d-glazed (upvc) or wood same with the doors. What sort of dirt is it? regular dirt ie atomosphere or alage etc. Any chance you could post a photo of the house/walls, and I'll try to help. DIY pressure washers (Argos, B&Q etc) are fine, and don't take offence really should be used for just cleaning cars, for a pro job, a pro machine and user is needed.

Hi Roger
many thanks, I will have a look and see if I have any close up pics. The dirt is really just that I should think. I live in a rural area but am also on a main road so do get usual traffic maybe not the volume of some places but lots of tractors. We also have a coal fire so I don't know if maybe soot may contribute.
