hot soapy water or autoglym interior clean is really good and a sponge or plenty of clean cloths just fill a spray bottle with either and spray on the dash and wipe away until you have got the dirt off. then dry and apply either a matt or high gloss dashboard / plastic spray as i said i only use auto glym products.
Make sure you charge enough to cover the time spent as its not a 2 min job i tend to stay away from the really really dirty jobs

for getting in the vents and cracks of the dash i find that cotton bud sticks are really useful just dont put too much water on the dash for obvious reasons.

what sort of floor covering is in there is it carpet or rubber matting?

Its carpet flooring i saw a brush on ebay with a rubber spike on the other end to get in the awkward bits mothers i think but cotton buds sound cheaper. How much would you charge its a escort van totaly pitted in the front in the back its ply lined and only needs a hoover outside needs cutting back with a machine buffer and an exterior valet. The guy is a mate so ill have to knock a bit off

i think the brush with the rubber bits on it are for use to help get rid of dog hair like i said hot soapy water should do the trick

a machine polish on the outside would cost at least £85 + vat and if its dirty on the inside i would charge £30 +vat

A 1 inch paint brush is brilliant for in the air vents and around switches on dash, I have one in my own car and have a brush around when I'm bored
I'm always in the poo, it's just the depth that varies

not seeing the vehicle but i do a builders escort now and again so i know what your up against complete valet + machine polish and deep clean of interior 1 would charge £135 again autoglym interior shampoo is the only product i would use for this job i would then offer to supply rubber car mats and heavy duty seat covers but only the ones which cover the whole seat not the ones that just hang down both these items can be bought from your local motor factors or there are several places on the net remind him it is in his advantage to keep it clean and to do the same job in a month's time say would only cost £60 as it probably wouldn't need a machine polish and half the interior will be done (floor and seat always worst and dash wouldn't be as bad this time round)
