Sub-contract work
« on: February 22, 2007, 10:12:42 pm »
I am starting my own driveway wash business in 2 weeks and although i say it myself i am a shet hot canvasser and salesman having been in the sales industry for 10 year.
I worked last year getting leads and selling 3 jobs per week averaging £2k per sale, having done this i decided to start my own company and need some advice if possible. I want to sell roof coating for my company but sub-contract the work out to a roofer, how should i go about this ?
I want a roofer to do 2 jobs per week for me.

How much do i pay a roofer, how much i take per job,

any info would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi

A roofer on price work will be different on day work.

If you give him a price he will get it done sharpish, as it is worth more to him, if on day work he will drag it out more to make it worth his while.

Best decide from the start which one you want to offer.

I will be difinatly going down the route of price work.
What i want to do is get a roofer to do 2/3 jobs per week every week, would i need to get thier prices first before i sell the jobs ?

Hi,
I justed loked at your web site and you state a roof clean etc needs a site visit.
So if you are able to price the job why can't you just sub out the job on price?
Unles you don't know how much your subbie roofer want's for the job, then you will have top take him with you get his price, send him to car or pub go do the deal after adding your markup onto price. I'm defenatley no prize winning salesman, but I could sort that one.

When you and your subbie get plenty jobs under ur belts then you will know how he works and may not need to involve him at pricing level
I'm always in the poo, it's just the depth that varies
