Not much help as I've never needed to change mine (I have a Trafic which is same as Vivaro).  I imagine that this is pretty costly because a mechanic I know told me that the engine has to come out in order to do it.

Before you go for a full new clutch check every other option that it may be.

How many miles has the van done and does it have a hydraulis clutch or cable operated??

It is very unusual for a modern clutch to fail below 80k miles without a serious amount of abuse or too much riding it whilereversing a trailer.

  Just slipping in first gear?

It would be more usual for it to slip in a higher gear, third and fourth are most common due to the way the gear ratios and the torque interact on the clutch plates.

Have Vauxhall had a look, or better still try to find a van rental company that also have a workshop, they are more likely to take it for a quick drive to let you know, and will probably know of the common problems without giving you dealer bull.

  Good Luck
