Customers over the moon with wfp
« on: January 19, 2007, 08:03:44 pm »
I had to call back on 22 of my customers tonight for collecting, they all had the explanation letter with my ticket for, your windows have been cleaned today.

18 customers have had the chance to inspect there windows, the other 4 only had them done today, so I was not expecting any feedback from this 4, but one lady customer out of the 4 inspected them when she got home this afternoon.

so Guy's 19 out of 22 gave wfp top marks, one moaned they were so clean outside, that she had to spend the next morning cleaning inside ;D
So far I have not had one customer moan about wfp. but only half way around my first clean so only time will tell.

Did you all get the same response? or did you get loads of moans?

I put the good response down to many months of explanation to them and not keeping them in the dark, and loads of preparation work on windows and frames, before the change over.

The rest of the results from customers that were home will be in next time around.

Cheers Gaz
I love it with no complaints, because customers talk and word spreads, more work on the Horizon, I can feel it in my old bones, or maybe thats the aches and pains ;D ;D

ive had 2 complaints in my time

1 was 2 nd floor window ( more than 10 M high ) on a AOP home, they feed doves that lived in the complex, well this 1 window had a direct hit of bird mess, it was massive, i spent a bit more time on it, the mess has slide down the glass and just caught on the botton of the bead, from the inside you could see  and 3 mm on the glass ( of course from the ground you couldnt see a thing due to the window cill )

2nd was the grass was left wet, i dont really count this as a complaint, more of a idiot just making a noise ;)

thats about it

And you have been wfp for some while haven't you Matt?

with 1 complaint you can't moan at that, and the other moan because thats all you can call it,  its not as if you stopped them going out in the bikinis to do a spot of sun bathing is it? ;D ;D

No it wasn't me, but you did make me the offer, for which I thank you.

I was able to see a guy do a few windows just down the road from me.

I'm trying, and failing to post a picture of my Trailer. So any instructions, but aside from that Jeff, assuming you are the same Jeff, your trailer should me more complete by now that just the thermal insulation, and also how are you getting along with using it?

First of all we'll get you posting your picture. when you click to post or reply, you will see the words Additional Options, click that, you will then see the words Attach, click on the browse section, and find the pictures on your pc, do your write up and post. if you preview first, you have to re attatch your picture.

Still no further with the lid section on my trailer, still waiting for the guy to get his delivery, he has to order so many sheets per order.

Been using it for a couple of weeks now and so far so good, trouble is I forget sometimes its on the back ::) you need a little experience with reversing especially in tight spots and some small trailers you can't see, so they end up all over the place, I'm lucky I welded support legs onto mine, I think you can see them in the pictures I posted, this helps to see the trailer when reversing. I am so glad I had army training and also tow a caravan, so I'm able to reverse out of most situations with out looking a plonker ;D
When I have my lid made and fitted, I'll install the alarm system then I'll update my post on the academy.

Similar to you Jeff,
3/4 through my first clean with wfp & no complaints. Although just using it mostlly for upstairs & conservatories at this stage (ups & downs with leaded & georgian).
In fact, on one large georgian paned house a couple of weeks ago, I called back to collect a few hours later and saw the results were terrible (thick chunky frames, serious oxidation). Smiling customer opens door, £20.00 in hand. I said I wasn't happy with results and did them again. Customer offered to pay me more! Of course, only took the 20.

Good one Jeff

I adopted the wfp back in August and do up and down windows and have lost 1 customer. She phoned moaning so I went straight round to see her and it was a horrible day weather-wise by the time I got there, gales, light rain etc

There were a couple of drips from the gutters but importantly a birds feather had stuck to one of the conservatory windows which she gleefully pointed out saying '' that would'nt happen if the windows had been done the old way ''   ???

I thought I cannot argue with that sort of mentally so told her I would let her go.

On walking down the path, cheque in hand she called out '' my mum doesnt like this new system either ''    ah!   reason explained then!   ;D

Nice one Jeff

wfp in thr right hands with practise and guidence from this forum and a bit of patience you cant go wrong 8)

you will always get complaints wether your wfp or trad everyone makes mistakes you should see some of the wfp blokes round my area.  One chap i know has got no insurance no decent equipment and his tank is not bolted in his van and his van is full of c**pand he was robbing the social for a few years.  His work is no better but unfortunately hes one of those people that thinks he knows it all its w-c's like him that give us all a bad name :(

But keep at it sounds like you are doing an excellent job 8)

I as a new guy here find that my new customers like the idea that the frames are washed and cleaned with the wfp method (no offence to anyone/method).

As most other w/c would appear to clean the glass only.... ;D

I've never had a complaint yet ! Not one, but I have had a lot of nice comments and a few referrals on the basis of how good the windows are.

When I first went WFP I was really worried that the customers wouldn't like it and I would get lots of moans but it never happened.

I am finding that I am getting 'referals' from some of my new customers....most of my customers are never in when I clean and I only collect from a handfull of customers so after the 1st meeting with them I do not see them, as a result other than the fact that they pay me I do not know if they are 'happy' or not..

However it is these referals that give me the best indication that my work is appreciated.... ;D

Hi Jeff,

What sort of preparation work did you do on the windows and frames? Did this save time on the first cleans?

Hi chris
The work I did before hand was to change away from fairy I went to B&Q and bought squeegee off, works a treat, but my main aim was to clean all the frames properly including brushing the dirt from the tops of frames before washing them, it did slow my trad work down at first, but like wfp once you get on top of it, you fly through it.
When I changed over to wfp I found I wasn't using that much water and seemed to be flying through the work, I did return to quite a few customers over the first week just to check on my work, and though I say it myself was supprised to find my work was good. took the tips from the guy's and they paid off.

And before all you guy's praise me, its only thanks to you guy's on forums like this, that I was able to prepare for the change over, So my great piece of advice to new comers if your Trad and serious about changing to wfp, then start now, it doesn't matter if your not starting for another six months, Tell the customer and spend time with them explaining what its all about, then concentrate on the frames, and get rid of the fairy (not your mate ;D) the detergent ;) and your change over to wfp will be made that much easier and quicker.
I have been going just a very short time with wfp, I am now upto date with my work, and can see I will have to get more customers, Me upto date  :o  Now that is a first, but its true.

Wfp seems to be getting noticed and more popular all the time, 8) i had a new customer yesterday ask me if i could do her windows i told her it would be done with the wfp system are you familiar with this ?  She replied yes they use it on my offices at work.
Ive stopped giving explanation notes out now i briefly explain to the customer about this technology and keep it plain and simple, i found the more you went in to detail the more they got confused.  ??? Most of them didnt read the letter anyway ::) its all down to confidence ;)
