we don`t HAVE to have water softerner in place...this is optional in order to prolong the life of the membrane.
Flushing a 4040 is exactly the same...turn the tap on and allow a full flow of water through the RO for 10-15 minutes and its done.

The main reason for a 4040 is quicker production of water.
I get 400 litres in 4 hours.

Saying that, mine came with the set up I purchased...looking at the price of one new...I would think twice!!

no...normal tap pressure and I have never measured the PSI of my tap water...it certainly doesn`t gush out but has a good flow from the tap.

Do you have a valve on the reject water going out of the RO?

Is this how you acheive the results?

You must be recovering a large amount of the water?

I have a valve on the ro to change the ratio of pure/waste water. It runs at 50% giving a good stream of water from the ro at average of 004TDS and an equally good (bad) stream going to waste.
