The only problem with mounting them that way is, if they spring a leak, the water will run into the motor and no more motor.

Plenty room in there! don't worry. that sheet of wood Ithat I used for the bulkhead was lying flat in the back when I went to pay my friend a visit at his farm. His little dirty dog deceided to jump in as soon as I opened the door!
