My wife and I run a new domestic cleaning business. We are currently in the process of adding a new service, mattress/allergen cleaning, and we would like some advice on how best to promote this service and what equipment,detergents etc are best or available.

Anyone out there with relevant experience, please send us your comments.

We have also posted a new website. Have a look and gives us your comments.

Also any ideas on maximising web search listing? Any free ads? Cheap printing?

We use AllergStop mattress spray sanitises, gets rid of dust mites, allergens etc.There is a company in Cornwall solutions Uk that sells the stuff here is there web address. Hope this helps

Are there any natural mattress sprays out there which disinfect as well as reduce future dustmite build-up?  In my experience clients who have this kind of cleaning carried out will be against chemical usage.

I believe 'Mattress Doctor' use a spray which is exclusive to them - this is natural and chemical free - unfortunately this is only available to franchisees.

Anything you use will be regarded by the general public as a chemical..........Promite from Alltec has been around for about 6 years and well proven and I believe most suppliers now have products which might meet your criteria.

I believe you will have great difficulty in making the mattress cleaning / treating pay, it's been tried by many with very little return

if you were 'cleansing' the mattress from potential allergense and not removing stains you may find that you will be going along the right lines.

There are many products on the market, 1 has been quoted already but it depends on what cost you are going to charge to which product you use because ther is a difference in price.

I wonder if m-power and the likes would cleanse a mattress, it kills flees?

Just an opinion but you might be better off adding on normal carpet cleaning or maybe something else? Then again, if you're just vacuuming and treating with an anti-allergen product, you won't need to buy much (if any) equipment, so might be worth a go?
