You allowance would not stand up if you werever investigated by the tax man.Why?

Because you know where you are going to your customers and its repeat work.

The tax man knows you will use it for private use.

I use my sat nav all the time for finding jobs (floods not windows) has gone through as expense. Brother in law got a Tom Tom for Xmas, he works on a building site. Private use, what the hell do you use it for?

I don't have Tom Tom but I have put maps of a new (to me) area through the books before.  I genuinely needed the maps for work too until I got to know my way around.
