Just put my Tank into my Trailer
« on: December 31, 2006, 02:21:53 pm »
Getting there Lads, Today I installed my 250ltr Tank into my trailer, and I decided to insulate it ready for the winter months ahead, the insulating boards are only about 3/4'' thick so I doubled them up except the bottom. sealed all the Joints with British gas Joint sealing tape (don't know were that came from  ) and made a little insulated lid, but I don't expect that to last long  need a way now to insulate the pipe you see coming from the tank.
Pump, hose & battery will be removed every night along with the backpack, all for security reasons, rented a garage but that won't be ready for another month, so need to take precautions now.

Hi Jeff,it`s getting there mate, great idea to insulate it,
Have you put water in the tank yet to see if the outlet leaks, because thats a mistake i made when i put my tank in my van all set up then filled it to the top then drip drip drip  :-\,so i use some ptfa tape and silicone and it`s dry as a bone  ;D,Gaz

Hi Gaz
Yes I'm getting there, I havent tried it with water yet, but if you have a look I  have left a little cut-out section with some insulation bunged in there.
I have used ptfe tape so hope I don't have any problems. If I really need to the whole box section will lift off the Tank.

One thing that was pointed out to me was I would not be able to see the water level. Jouk 45 pointed me to a site and from there, I was able to design myself a low water indicator using a magnet and reed switch, at least until I get used to the amount of water I use, so will get busy next week and build one for myself.

Bear in mind shaun, this is only a switch and does not include the electronics.

joe I put all the parts together today from the workshop total cost NOTHING  ;D ;D
Saying that I don't know how much my grandson will charge me for the little rubber ball I'm after, that will probably cost me a fiver because its still attached to his bat on a long piece of elastic he said Little darlings ::) ;D
