Dave,  do you mean you have a Scudo and want to buy a car(as opposed to a van) with the same engine so  you can do a transplant?
Got me confused anyway ;)

2.0hdi and 1.9d are the transplantable engines I believe all from the peugeot/citroen family

Thanks Shiner,     That site is excellent if you have a problem that is getting to you and the forum is just as good as this one.   Used it a couple of times and had the solution back quickly.

I'm not too far away from you and these past few days with low temperatures and no wind it just exaggerates whats coming out the exhaust, reversing in our drive the other night I could barely see where I was going for the smoke, still my Berlingo 1.9d has been to the moon and back ::)

I had simalar problem with my peugeot expert, engine was fine turned out it was the EGR unit it recirculates the exhaust gasses back into cylinders. My mechanic said they are prone to going wrong, only problem was the excess smoke ruined the catalyst and it had to be replaced.
