I'm getting a crystal ball for Christmas
« on: December 20, 2006, 06:27:00 pm »
This is my first Christmas WCing (started in March).

I've had customers say -

"Will you be able to squeeze me in before Christmas?"

"I'm glad you've come this week, it will be nice to have clean windows for Christmas" etc ...

This was what I expected.

I didn't expect this -

Phoned my customers this evening for tomorrows jobs and I've had 2 say, "can we leave it until after Christmas?"

(One did say, "they are still clean" - I'm a victim of the results of WFP!)

If I'm honest I'm grateful for the later start and the earlier finish - Need the break.

I'm planning to put my prices up in the new year.  Guess who will get to know about the price increase first. ;D

If they try it again in the new year they'll be offered the x1.25 price for a 6 weekly service & x1.5 price for an 8 weekly service.

Spotless,

Why do you phone them the evening before?

I phone some of my for two reasons
Firstly they can leave their gates unlocked and secondly so they can leave me some money.

I phone all my customers the day before to let them know im coming, well the misses does, and the customers always comment on it! I never have to go and collect, as money is always left for me.

I never phone and never collect

Likewise, apart from two excellent jobs that I definitely wouldn't want to lose.

I've dropped all my 'phone the night before jobs to leave the gate open', but I still collect on a Saturday morning and if they're not in, I leave a SAE with payment instructions.

For my rural accounts I just leave a SAE and don't collect at all from them.

Some of you guys make it sound so simple, but I do realise you've all been in this trade far longer than I.

I know that within a year or so I'll never have to go collecting too!
