Personally I can't see much difference with dog earing it must be me but I still do and it just make that slight difference when i squeegee because I do go through less scrims in a week!  ;)

Can't be bothered, so I just use the Unger plastic end clips. Works great as well. :)

I've heard it wears your rubbers out faster because there's more pressure on the ends.

That's not what I want. :o

I've dog-eared early on in my short window cleaning 'career', so didn't know much else.  But recently Wor Lass and I used brand new 'undog-eared' channels and within two days I dog-eared them.

It definately helps reduce scrimming; sometimes to a level where you don't have to scrim at all; depending on the window and frame type.

I'm not sure that it wears the rubber out quickly (as Squeaky suspects it might), and even if it did, it would be worth it.

We like to change our rubbers regularly, they're cheap and a new rubber helps you to work faster and therefore you earn more for your time; less frustrating too.

I use a 14" inch squeegie; does size matter with dog earing?

I have tried it on a few differant squeegies.

I dont think it make much differance and none i can see.
But the rubbers don't last long as it pits holes in the end where its dogeared very quickly.

Now i use a standard brass squeegie channel and no dog earing.

Wonder if pet shops do dog earing  ;D

Cheers so far guys!

Well just to let you know same sqeegee with same rubber, not sure why people are saying you go throuugh rubbers quicker, might it be the ammount of pressure you are using to sqeegee? i dont think i use a lot of pressure so that might b the answer!

Anyway any more feedback appreciated!

dog-earing the channel is def the best way to go - used to have an ettore 30" channel that I had dog eared, didn't even need to scrim most windows after squeegeeing, just be careful not to overdo it - you should only bend it back about 10degrees, anymore and it won't be as effective and you might just ruin the channel.
