not sure what pump you SHOULD use, but remember if you are pumping up to height of attic, you will need a pump with a good head. Head means distance in height from water level to highest point pumping to.
Then your distance on top of that!

I use a submersible from back of house to front approx 30 yards, no height to travel though all on fl;at ground.

Max head lift on a submersible pump is essentially another way of stating the outlet pressure, for example if it states on the pump a max head lift of 8m = 25.6ft = 12.8psi

So if you are wanting to pump up to the height of your attic then assuming your attic is 30ft above the level of the water in the tank you will need a pump with a max head lift of at least 10m to get any sort of flow.  We stock a 320ltr/min submersible pump complete with float switch and has a max head of 11m (you will still get quite a high flow rate with this pump) for £165 inc VAT.  We stock 2 types of high lift pumps as well - 24m and 36m lift, both have a 95ltr/min max flow rate and come complete with float switch, the 24m is £150inc VAT and the 36m is £170 inc VAT.  These are probably more suited to what you need.

You're going to want a valve on the end of that or you'll get some major siphoning!!
