I often see vans with 6in / 150mm pipe carriers but dont fancy my poles ratteling about inside one of these (too big) so was wondering if any of you have made your own pole carriers if so what did you use, and any tips please?

I made my own. I used a soil pipe cut it to the length of my pole , cut a slot in it to fit my gooseneck in and put 2 end caps on.
Total cost around £25

Yep got the same sort of thing, but just an internal version.
I put together to pipes fromthe DIY shop with a set of holding brackets and job done.
I am pretty lucky as my poles slot in the van just with about and inch to spare...phew....Another window cleaner I know has done the same as you have and he puts a padlock on the end cape.

That was on my old van , my poles fit inside my new van. Except when I use my 52ft pole that has to go on the roof

What do you do with the hose at the end of the pole?

It all depends how busy I am . If I have time I coil it around my pole then push the pole into the carrier.
Or I just let it hang out of the slot and fasten it onto the roof rack

I normally just bungee my pole on top of my ladders between jobs but today
forgot
travelled 3 miles and it stayed on all the way,
500 quid pole could have been devastating if it would have flown off and for the driver behind.
I know a few window cleaners that have forgrt to tie their ladders on
Brett.
