One word Omnipole. They are the best, you can add so much more to them. Have a look.

Yeah i think they are. I used a Ott pole and did not like it, manily as there is no jets on the brush head and just flows out. Also its hassles to take the brush off to rinse and clean, but i do like the angle bracket so you can change angles. Apart from that i did not like it.

Is there much difference in price?
Are omnipoles more expensive than OTT?

Regarding WFP's, Ionic Systems (formerly OTT) offer a wide range;

Residential Poles with swivel heads (like Justin has)

Commercial (Universal) Poles in Glass & Carbon Fibre

Ergo-lite Poles the lightest Professional pole on the market.

Prices range from just £16.95 + vat.

Visit our website http://www.ionicsystems.com for further information.

Kind regards

Hello all,

Been using my WFP for a couple of weeks now and having fun! Some windows are easier than others, I am finding older, painted windows to be a real pain in the neck, but hoping that after a couple of cleans the streaks will disappear.

Great post by Steve, enjoyed reading your account of the "trials & tribulations".

Regarding best poles, I have a 5 section Unger pole, the one supplied with Peter's system, and am finding that it's afwy bendy! A bit like cleaning windows with a giant hot dog when at the fully opened position, and am just a wee bit concerned that there's not enough "purchase" when cleaning higher windows/windows over flat roofs.

Do any of the poles that you chaps use (ionics etc) eliminate or reduce this problem?

Thanks

Jonathan

The simple answer is
YES
Unger poles are not designed for wfp work.
Carbon fibre, Fibreglass and PowerPoles are

Whats the price for a Ergo-lite pole?

Whats its maximum cleaning height?

Can the cleaning head from Peters System fit it?

If not whats the price for a cleaning head?

And does it have Jets fitted?

On the second photo the window below the one being cleaned is open.

How do you prevent the water running in from above?

According to Ionic's 2004 pricelist:

35 ft = £774.95
40 ft = £854.95
45 ft = £894.95
60 ft = £1,059.95

I guess if you want the best, you gotta pay for it!

(Most of them weigh about 2 or 3 kg less than the carbon fibre equivalents.  That, and the fact that the profiles are quite a bit thinner, making them easier to use, is what you're paying for)

Darling,

how about we spend £1,059.95 (plus VAT?) on a really light window cleaning pole? ;D

Think I'll get away with it? Don't think it'll wash! :'(

I know you get what you pay for, so not slagging off Ionics :)

try bms brodex similar type of poles to ionics but better brush head p.s. you will need several poles as you would need traction in hospital if you worked all day with a 60 foot no matter how light the claims are and watch out for pole weights as in some cases the carbon fibre is heavier than a fibreglass equivalent of the same length. to give you some idea of weight i tried to pick up an ionics ergolight 40foot pole in a straight lift from the ground (something i can do with an aluminium tucker pole) at the fed conference and could not achieve it. so cclaims that 'it's the lightes pole' can only be taken in comparison to other carbon fibre poles. but then that's marketing for you.
