Don't know if this is any help, but found this web-site the other day.
www.a4access.com
If you are in the south, Operator Training Services 0870 850 3029, I think it is a days course to get cherry picker ticket.

The price you can pay for a cherry picker depends on what size it is, and who you get it off.
I would get ipaf trained
http://www.ipaf.org/members/training_gb_map.htm
( click on the area you are in to find a local training  office )
It will cost you about £125 and lasts for 5 years.
I just hired a 17mtr picker from a local supplier and it cost me £150 per day. If you go to someone like nationwide ( http://www.nationwideaccess.co.uk/home.asp) I was quoted over £500 , so it pays to shop around

Universal charge a price for the day plus £60 delivery and £60 pick up :-\
Cost per day depends on the size of the cherry picker
